"Get One instead of Three" Rule

There is a rule I've developed and try to implement in my life for a while - pretty sure that others already use it as well. It is basically getting one "best" instead of having three "average"s. When applied to corporate culture, here it comes:
- Instead of having three "average" salesman, get a "very good" one (and educate it to be the best)
- Instead of having three managers, get one (and empower him/her).
- Instead of having three products which are third in their sectors, have one which soars everyday (go until it is the first and keep it there)

And for personal use: please buy a good quality tshirt instead of three average quality.
