"Get One instead of Three" Rule

There is a rule I've developed and try to implement in my life for a while - pretty sure that others already use it as well. It is basically getting one "best" instead of having three "average"s. When applied to corporate culture, here it comes:
- Instead of having three "average" salesman, get a "very good" one (and educate it to be the best)
- Instead of having three managers, get one (and empower him/her).
- Instead of having three products which are third in their sectors, have one which soars everyday (go until it is the first and keep it there)

And for personal use: please buy a good quality tshirt instead of three average quality.

HR problem

In general there are two kinds of companies. Both types have realized how important human resources is for the company for strategic goals.
However, first type invests in HR to reduce costs in the short run (cost reduction approach) while the other one invests in HR to over-educate its employees -by spending too much money- to increase profitability in the long run (quality focussed approach).

Which type is yours?

do not forget!

In 1993, when Lou Gerstner was asked to fill the seat of CEO of IBM, many people around said that he was incapable and inexperinced. But he created a new IBM five years later.
When Alex Tew started his million dollar homepage project, people made fun of him in
chat forums and in their blogs. After four months, he got more than a million bucks in his
pockets.

People will also make fun of you when you will start a big thing.
Do not forget!

...

The Last Great Brand!

In the very beginning, God created human.
Then He gave him the power to form things. The man used this power to create “the brand”.
But what he created was so strong that, it has made its creator rich or poor.
So maverick it was, its creator has begged others’ help to control it.
And so cunning it was that it took lives of the innocent.

However, there has been the one, which is superior to all. The almighty.
It has been the faultless, the immortal. Then one day, Orhan Gazi, has started to jot down its features. And he called it “The Last Great Brand!”.

Orhan Gazi

One day he realized the existence of all the brands in his life. When he was done with realizing, he admired the way they entered his life. When he was done with admiring times, he has started to think about them. He understood some concepts but it was never enough.

Thus after high school education in Italy, he went to Erasmus University Rotterdam to study International Business Administration in Netherlands.
Every day he stared at the dozens of brands, which were carried in the port of Rotterdam, over the bridge Erasmusbrug. He has read, written and read about them again and again.
Then one year after, he enrolled to Business Administration of Bilkent University, Turkey.

Those were the days he decided to be a marketer.

He decided to tell about the concepts he understands and understand the ones he admires.

And Orhan Gazi has started to jot down “The Last Great Brand!”
